Library Information search and lending services


Rules of Using the VGTU Library define the order of the reader’s service.

The following persons can be registered as Library users:
  • The visitors, who present a valid Lithuanian student’s card (LSP), identity document.
  • Foreign students, who are on exchange or another program, can use the library free of charge.
Readers can search for publications via the VGTU Library’s electronic catalogue. It's possible to review covers and contents of most books, because since 2010 VGTU library develops “Covers and contents” project. Pay attention to the abbreviations, which mark the book storage area >>>
Order publications via
The ordered documents may be picked up in the Lending and Storage Department (1 floor, room 101). Publications, including manuals, are lent for a period from 1 week to semester.
All publications, taken out from the library, must be returned or prolonged after the winter term until February 10 and after spring term– until July 10.

Posibility to use self-service system. Publications from open stock can be borrowed without ordering a period from 1 week to 1 month.
During weekdays readers can give books back in the Lending and Storage Department or in the book return device at the entrance of Central library (Saulėtekio ave. 14) at any time.
The documents can be renewed via phone (8-5) 274 49 00 or via e-mail, or online connecting to library e-catalog. The renewal of books is possible if they were given for a semester. Documents can be renewed only once. The term of using the documents can be prolonged, if they are not required by other reader.

Remember: be attentive and return books in time! Users, who fail to return a book, may be fined (the fine goes every day to every taken book). The fine has been rated by the Rector:
• 0,07 EUR if a book was given for one semester;
• 0,14 EUR if a book was given for a shorter time than one semester.
